This course provides students with a comprehensive overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Key elements of professional training are covered, including:
Legal powers and limitations
The role and responsibilities of a security guard
Handling emergency situations
Effective communication and public relations
Access control procedures
Ethics and professional conduct
Students must successfully pass an exam to complete the unarmed security guard training. Upon completion, a certificate will be awarded. This training is an essential requirement for obtaining a New York State Security Guard License, as it fulfills the mandatory coursework needed to deliver professional security services.
As part of the licensing process, our training school will arrange your fingerprinting at a nearby location and guide you through the application with the New York State Department of State, Division of Licensing Services.
The fingerprinting process may take up to two weeks and requires a valid, non-expired form of identification (such as a driver’s license or passport). Please note: if an original application is not submitted within five months of fingerprinting, the process must be repeated.
